This article presents an electronic vehicle registration (EVR) system which is being rolled out across Bangkok, Thailand, with the aim of improving road safety and enhancing speed enforcement. The system is based on radio frequency identification (RFID) communication between vehicles and infrastructure, using cameras as back-up for visual identification.
